Scholarship
Our Scholarship
In 2022, the Lyons Garden Club established an annual scholarship to be provided to a graduating Lyons High School senior.
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who is a Lyons resident or attendee of Lyons Senior High School, and intends to study horticulture, agriculture, landscaping, botany, plant ecology, forestry, plant pathology, or any field of study involving plants.
This Lyons Garden Club Scholarship is distributed through the Lyons Community Foundation (LCF) scholarship application and awards process.

2025
hadley larson
Hadley will be attending Chapman University, where she will major in Environmental Science and Policy on the STEM concentration track. She will also swim for the university’s varsity women’s team.
Deeply passionate about the natural world, Hadley has long envisioned a life dedicated to protecting and advocating for the environment. Her future plans include attending law school to study environmental law, combining scientific knowledge and policy understanding to broaden her impact—whether or not she chooses to practice law.
During high school, Hadley participated in several environmentally focused clubs, including Riverwatch and Science and Leadership, and looks forward to continuing this involvement in California.
2024
Camden Paznokas
Camden will be attending Colorado State University, pursuing a degree in neuroscience with cognitive science, ethnobotany, and artificial intelligence concentrations.
His ultimate goal is to improve our resolution of consciousness, artificial intelligence, and humanity’s relationship with nature to source sustainable, innovative, and enduring solutions to human, ecological, and technological problems.
Camden plans to attend graduate school and
conduct independent research once reaching a more definitive career path during his undergraduate education.
2023
Keara Ping
Keara will be attending Colorado State University, majoring in forestry and minoring in botany. She's lived in the mountains he entire life and found that she'd rather work outdoors than in an office. Keara loves spending time outside, finding it to be therapeutic as well. She aims to work at a National Park while growing and research plants.
In addition to Keara's educational and professional pursuits, she likes skateboarding and volleyball, lettering in the latter her senior year. Moreover, she enjoys listening to music, plays the french horn and guitar, and earned The Director's Award For Band during her senior year. She earned honors and silver starts in orchestra, as well as honors and gold stars in band.
